Homework is set by class teachers and may include a range of activities for example: reading, spelling, maths and class work.
Parents can give valuable assistance to their children by:
- fixing a set time and place for daily homework
- taking an interest in what their child is doing
- discussing difficulties and successes with your child’s teacher
It is not our intention to have a child labour over homework for hours. If your child has made a legitimate attempt at the work and is finding the work too difficult or cannot complete the task after a reasonable period of time, stop the homework and write a note to your child’s teacher detailing the problem.
