Welcome back to everyone for what promises to be an exciting and busy Term Three. This term, we have the NED Show performing for our students as well as Cartoonist, Jeff Taylor. District Athletics Carnivals, Year Six Camp, Interschool Sporting Activities for the upper school students and installation of new playground equipment for our Prep/Year 1 students as well as lots of exciting activities in the classrooms.
On top of all this, the construction of our new hall as well as library facilities is now starting. Some trees have already been removed and the fence around the construction site is currently being erected. The construction site is quite extensive and the fence around the perimeter of the site will result in some changes around the school. The school entry will remain the same however the area on the right from Cobb’s Cottage up to the Office building will be blocked off. The fence erected will be of a solid nature so that vision into the worksite will be limited to selected ‘viewing areas’ that will be made available to the public. There will be times when trucks will be entering and leaving the construction site. Entry to the site for these vehicles will be via the main school entrance while the exit will be the driveway beside Cobb’s Cottage. Most of the heavy traffic will be timed where possible for when the students are in school or when the students are off site. Numerous precautions are being put in place to ensure the safety of our school members and as little inconvenience as possible to all associated with our school. Workmen at our school on a daily basis have been request to find adequate parking on the worksite so that valuable community parking spaces will not be used by the workmen.
The expected completion date for the library and hall is Friday, 27th November. We are hoping that this date will be a realistic expectation and not be too different from the actual completion date. If any community members have any concerns or identify any issues during this period of construction, please do not hesitate to contact the School Office so that we are able to deal with them immediately. Your patience and flexibility during this period of construction is greatly appreciated. |
