Hi. My name is Paul Lowik and I'm the Principal of Woombye State School. I would like to welcome you to our wonderful school. Situated just south of Nambour, we are nestled in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast in the lush surrounds of pockets of rainforest and rolling fields and only minutes away from the majestic beaches at Maroochydore and Mooloolaba.
Our school has been serving the Woombye Community for over 120 years, steadily growing to its current size of four hundred and five students. The school motto, “Achievement with Friendship” is evident to each visitor to the school as they will be greeted with the warmth and friendliness of a caring staff and an equally caring student body. We're very proud of our school and I'd like to invite you on a personal tour of it (by appointment) during school hours.

Remember the ‘Good old days’ when schools focussed on the ‘Three R’s’? The ‘Three R’s’ represented Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. Well, things haven’t changed that much since that catchcry echoed through the halls of schools in Queensland. Today, the ‘Three R’s’ have been retitled ‘Literacy and Numeracy’. These terms should be quite familiar to most parents as they are the cornerstone to our education today. Something else that hasn’t changed is that education is a partnership including parents and teachers where parents have a huge role to play long before a child even gets to school age.
